Our Practices

We meet on the first day of every week (Sunday), as saints of the New Testament did (Acts 20:7). Our worship includes prayer, singing, a message from God's Word, communion in the Lord's Supper, and a collection of offerings from members to support needy saints and to fund the work of the church. Our evening worship assembly is conducted in the same manner as the morning worship assembly.

Our singing is acapella (no man-made instruments) and congregational (everyone participates). We do not have a choir, nor do we have "performances" by individuals or groups.

Christian men lead in the administration of worship. Men and women have separate, but equally important, roles in the family and in the Lord's church (1 Timothy 2:11-12; 1 Corinthians 14:34-35).

We, as a church, do not support, endorse, fund, or oversee human institutions, including schools, orphanages, retirement homes, publications, or other charitable or religious entities. We believe the local church is sufficient to accomplish all the work that God has given to it, and that the local church must not exceed its ability by taking on more work than it can manage, or extend its reach beyond that work which God has authorized. We also believe that individual Christians have the God-given responsibility to take care of widows, orphans, and other needy people, so that the church need not be burdened (1 Timothy 5:16).

We do not have a kitchen, food pantry, gymnasium, fellowship hall, or other facilities for entertainment or social gatherings. It is not because we can't afford it, but because such things are not authorized in the New Testament. There is no record of a New Testament church having such facilities. The church is a spiritual organization with a spiritual mission, and such facilities are not necessary nor authorized to accomplish its spiritual mission.
